During my time at Passaic County Community College, I was fortunate to be selected for a rare paid internship at UCEDA, a company with several locations and hundreds of employees. Surprisingly, despite its size, UCEDA lacked a formal IT department.
I was brought on under the marketing director, where I became solely responsible for maintaining and upgrading the company’s WordPress website. My work included developing custom features to support daily business operations and implementing tools to provide analytics for internal reporting.
My role quickly evolved from intern to a trusted web and IT resource. Even after completing my studies, I continued working with UCEDA on a freelance basis, offering support and improvements to their systems as needed over the following years.
